Greene's book is probably the most significant contribution to the field of seduction since its beginnings in the Kama Sutra' and Ovid's Art of Love'. The author takes the essential ideas of some of the greatest thinkers and seducers and compiled them into one readable reference/ textbook/ sourcebook.
The ideas in the book have appropriate examples from history that function not only to illustrate, but also to educate the would-be seducer at the same time. Such a remarkable character of a text has only been achieved elsewhere (to my knowledge) in Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People'.
